If you’re like me, you’re trying to eat a healthy plant-based diet so you can look and feel your best.
Sure, you may not be on board 100% of the time, but you know that when you eat lots of fruits, veggies, nuts, beans and whole grains, your energy soars and you get sick less often. You’re curious and motivated and doing your darnedest to eat right.
Yet all too often, it seems like the deck is stacked against you. Between food-pushing friends, your packed schedule, and the overwhelming urge to inhale a pint of ice cream at 10 pm, it’s hard to stay on course.
You may have challenges like these:
You struggle to make time for healthy cooking.
You want to cook wholesome plant-based meals for your family, but you’re too exhausted.
You’d like to eat healthy without taking out a loan.
You wrestle with emotional eating and get frustrated when you can’t stay on track.
I hear you!
I know how hard it is to be a healthy girl in a junk food world. Even though two breast health scares have motivated me to eat right, I still fall off the wagon a lot.
But I’ve learned you don’t have to be perfect. Every bite of whole, plant-based food floods your body with healing, energizing nutrients. In fact, over the past 6 years on a not-so-perfect plant-based diet, I’ve reaped big rewards: more energy, 15 stubborn pounds gone, and a husband whose cholesterol, weight, and blood pressure have dropped into the healthy zone.
What’s more, I’ve discovered that making healthy plant-powered food is every bit as easy as making Standard American Diet (SAD) food—and even more delicious!
Of course, I still give in to red velvet cupcakes now and again. But I don’t sweat it, because I know climbing back on the wagon can actually be fun. (Behold: Skinny Cinnamon Roll Muffins!)
