Jicama sticks are my new best friends. (Perhaps I need to get out more?)
Crunchy, sweet, and juicy, these guys are fun to munch and taste great with whatever you happen to have on hand. They also contain fiber and vitamin C, and retain their attractive, creamy color for up to a week when stored in the fridge—no unsightly browning!
So try one of the ideas below for a quick and healthy jicama snack, then share your own creations in the comments!
Thai
Roughly chop fresh cilantro and sprinkle over jicama sticks; drizzle with peanut sauce.
Fruity
Pair jicama sticks with honeydew spears; top with diced strawberries and a drizzle of maple syrup.
Classic
Sprinkle jicama sticks with salt and chili powder (ground chili peppers; not the spice blend added to beans-and-tomatoes chili); finish with a squeeze of fresh, tart lime juice.
